Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has returned to the national capital after nearly two months’ absence, officials said on Thursday. “He (Rahul Gandhi) is back,” an official at his office told IANS.
He added that an official confirmation would soon be released. The 44-year-old returned in a Thai Airways flight around 11 am this morning and drove directly to his residence where his mother and sister were waiting for him. It is not clear where he lived in the last 57 days and the age-old party is unlikely to reveal a transparent picture now.
The Congress vice president has been on a leave of absence since parliament’s budget session began on February 23. He is scheduled to address a ‘kisan-mazdoor’ (farmer-worker) rally in Delhi on Sunday.(IANS)
