After failing to capture Catalan Dani Alves, and being tangled up in the ongoing mission to recruit Raheem Sterling from Liverpool, Manchester United is reported to have agreed terms with Brazilian Roberto Firmino.
The 23-year-old Hoffenheim player has shown notable performances in Bundesliga last season, certainly impressing United’s manager Louis Van Gaal. Firmino was under a constant watch for Van Gaal for quite awhile, and now ESPN Brazil correspondent, Jose Elias has confirmed that he will be playing as a Manchester United player, next season after fulfilling medical examinations.

The tweet read, “[It is] confirmed that Firmino will make medical examinations in the selection to sign with Manchester united.”
According to a report by talkSPORT also, it is said that United has ‘agreed’ a fee of 13.1 million pounds to hire the talented Firmino who is in Liverpool’s wish list for this summer too.
There isn’t any confirmation from the Brazilian’s side though, regarding the deal as he is busy right now with national duty in Chile for Copa America.
Widely tipped as one of the rising stars in Brazil’s national squad alongside, Neymar and Oscar, Firmino had struck a chord at Van Gaal’s heart right before the commencement of Copa America on Thursday. He netted the only goal for the five-time world champions’ in a friendly against Honduras on Wednesday.
Firmino scored 12 goals and 10 assists during his commendable last summer in Hoffenheim, and that has certainly caught the attention of the Red Devils’ manager.
talkSPORT’s Bundesliga expert, Kevin Hatchard reported in the same article that Firmino signed a new contract last March with Hoffenhein, believing that the club “helped him develop as a player,” but due to their failure to make it to the Europe despite his striking contribution the star feels it’s “like the right time to move on.”
He added in the report, “If United get him for the figures being quoted, they’ll have pulled off a big coup.”
Although he might not be what Manchester United need right now his presence and young spirit can promisingly motivate the Red Devil’s and help them in the betterment of their performance.
