Mozilla has tied up with Intex Technologies and Spice to introduce what could possibly be the world’s cheapest smartphones in India. Chinese chipset maker Spreadtrum has already been roped in manufacture of these mobile phones costing around $25 (Rs 1,500).
Mozilla made a statement four months ago at the Mobile World Congress in February that it would enter the mobile manufacturing sector with an entry-level smartphone.
The new mobile phone being considered by Mozilla for the Indian market has reportedly a 3.5-inch screen, with a dual-SIM slot with a 128 MB RAM and an internal memory of 256 MB.
Quoting Intex Technologies’ business head for mobile phones Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, The Economic Times said the phone with these features will hit soon the Indian market.
