Gurgaon girl Aditi Arya was crowned Femina Miss India 2015 at a gorgeous function held in Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai and it is the 52nd edition of the annual beauty pageant held in India, with the winner representing the country at Miss Wrold pageant.
Aditi Arya was crowned by last year winner Koyal Rana and Aafreen Rachel Vaz and Vartika Singh were chosen runner ups for the second and the third positions respectively.
Other two contestants in the top five included Tanya Hope and Deeksha Kaushal. In all, 21 contestants made it to the final round that was held in Mumbai on Saturday evening. A judges panel chose the top five after ramp walk and Question and answer session.
As Aditi will represent India at Miss World 2015, Aafreen will take part in Miss International 2015, while Vartika is scheduled to participate at the Miss Grand International beauty pageants.
While Bollywood celebrities Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Shahid Kapoor performed at the grand finale, others who were present at the event include Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, producer Firoz A Nadiadwala, Anees Bazmee, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal and Shruti Haasan.
Other known faces at the beauty pageant include yesteryear actresses and actors like Shilpa Shetty, Manisha Koirala, Neha Dhupia, Sonali Bendre, dancer Shiamak Davar and designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosala.
However, the beauty pageant is not broadcast live and it will be shown on TV on April 5, almost a week after. (With inputs from IANS)
Who’s Aditi Arya?
Aged 21, the Gurgaon girl with beautiful husky eyes is studying business studies from Delhi University. She did her schooling from Amity International School and wanted to be a research analyst.
She was the first runner up in Miss India Delhi 2015 and entered the frey at Mumbai for the final, where she wa able to make it to the top. “It takes courage to endure the sharp pains of self discovery than choose to take the dull path of unconsciousness that would last the rest of our lives,’ is what her prepared quote is all about.
She prefers to stay busy with more activities and meeting strangers who have the potential to be friends. Interestingly, the business studies grad says the famous and fundamental law in economics — Law of diminishing marginal utility — should broken as nobody “would be never dissatisfied and never get bored of what we have. There will be no heartbreaks!”
The three qualities that every woman must possess should be self-reliance, grace and compassion, she adds.
On winning the Miss India pageant, she wants to represent India across all types of international platforms, whether beauty pageants or business conclaves.
A fan of Robert Downey Jr., she wishes to go on tour with him spellbound all the time. Her favourite Bollywood stat is Farhan Akhtar, for the philanthropic work he does outside his career.
