‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ (DDD) Box Office Collections Hit Record Rs.37 Crore in 3 Days
Zoya Akhtar’s recently released movie ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ earns Rs.37.05 Crore in three days. Weekend rush seemed to have turned the tables around for the movie which is on the way of making good profits.
Taran Adarsh, Film trade analyst, said it was due to a “strong weekend” in his tweet.
The movie ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ is quite close to the collection of Aanand L. Rai’s hilarious comedy ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns,’ starring Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan, which earned Rs.21.85 crore in two days of its release and entered the 100-crore club within a week.
Now that ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ too is on track to join the 100 crore club, if it keeps the momentum as Taran Adarsh said “weekdays are crucial”. The movie which was eagerly awaited for its release this month was keeping the expectations very high before its release but reviews were overly against the film and its director. Nonetheless, the weekend has made good the loss from adverse reviews in the print media.
The movie had a huge star cast with Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, and Anushka Sharma. Farhan Akhtar appears in a special appearance, and Pluto’s voice was dubbed by Amir Khan.
The movie is about the dysfunctional Punjab family who invites close friends for the Mehra’s 30th marriage anniversary party arranged on the cruise and then takes on a different drama when things get messed up.
