After 5 days of running successfully in theatres, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ has finally crossed Rs. 50 crore mark in the first five days, making it this year’s biggest and fastest earnings, in term of domestic box office collections.
On its opening day, the film minted Rs.10.53 crore and on Saturday, the collections were slightly higher at Rs.12.27 crore, while Sunday witnessed the highest grossings at Rs14.25 crore. As is the usual case, the weekday figures declined to Rs.5.77 crore on Monday followed by Rs.5.09 crore on Tuesday and Rs.4.48 crore on Wednesday.
Taran Adarsh, film trade analyst tweeted the box office collection about the movie saying, “#DilDhadakneDo crosses ₹ 50 cr mark! Fri 10.53 cr, Sat 12.27 cr, Sun 14.25 cr, Mon 5.77 cr, Tue 5.09 cr, Wed 4.48 cr. Total: ₹ 52.39 cr.”

The film, directed by Zoya Akhtar, started off on good opening collections with more than 60% occupancy rate and picked up more amid negative reviews in the media, coinciding with the weekend. Even on Monday, reports said the collections remained steady making it overall a good start-up week for the film.
The movie with huge star cast comprising of Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Shefali Shah, Anushka Sharma and Farhan Akhtar was predicted to join 100 crore club after this weekend.
With the nexxt Hindi movie ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ being one of those serious movies, DDD may continue to reap the benefits of fun loving people thronging the theatres.
The movie which was released last Friday, depicts a dysfunctional punjabi family who is on the edge of facing bankruptcy who organizes a wedding anniversary party on the cruise with close friends and family just to find ways of getting back to profits.
