On the occasion of National Ayurveda Day, the Ministry of AYUSH is organizing a one day National Seminar on “Prevention and Control of Diabetes through Ayurveda” tomorrow (28th October 2016) at New Delhi amid divergent opinions surfacing on some recent Ayurvedic medicines released in the market.
PMO Minister of State Jitender Singh will inaugurate the seminar and Minister of AYUSH (IC) Shripad Yesso Naik will preside over the programme where it is going to launch “Mission Madhumeha through Ayurveda” on the occasion.
The government has decided to celebrate National Ayurveda Day every year on the occasion of Dhanwantari Jayanti.
The Mission Madhumeha being launched will be implemented throughout the country through a specially designed National Treatment Protocol for effective management of Diabetes through Ayurveda. The national treatment Protocol will be also released on the occasion of National Seminar.
In this regard , Ministry of AYUSH has communicated to various State Governments (Department of AYUSH/Department of Health/Department of Medical Education), State AYUSH Directorates, All Ayurveda Educational Institutes, Ayurveda Pharma to celebrate the National Ayurveda Day by organizing Public lectures/Seminars/Exhibitions on the theme of Prevention and Control of Diabetes through Ayurveda.
Several State Government AYUSH departments have planned for providing free Ayurvedic health care services for the patients of Diabetes by organizing health check-up camps, public lectures for creating awareness in public regarding Diabetes etc.
