Dalai Lama’s abode Dhramsala on Friday woke up to a sunny morning as the fourth One Day International (ODI) between India and West Indies in the Himalayan town will witness celebrities like Richard gere among others who have descended on the the town.

“It’s really pleasant here,” Abhay Shukla, a cricket fan from Delhi, told IANS. “The towering mountains ringed around the stadium make it most beautiful grounds in the world,” he added.

The weather office in Shimla said Dharamsala saw a low of 12.6 degrees Celsius Friday. It said the day’s temperature is likely to hover around 24 degrees.

The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) is sparing no effort to make the ODI a warm and welcoming affair at its new showpiece venue, at an altitude of 4,000 feet above sea level.

“We are fully prepared for the second biggest show in this stadium,” HPCA president Anurag Thakur, an MP. HPCA officials said the stadium’s popularity soared with the hosting of nine IPL matches and the first ODI between India and England Jan 27 last year. Match Preview:

India’s victory over West Indies in Delhi One Day and West Indies victory over India in Kochi with the Visakhapatnam ODI being called off due to cyclone Hud Hud, strapped series 1-1. Caribbean and Indian squads are practicing forward to go ahead in the series. Dharmshala ground is not a neutral wicket, and pitch is bouncy and fast enough. Caribbean squad would be happy, they consists of standard fast bowlers like Jerome Taylor, who performed well in Delhi and Kochi. Ravi Ram Paul would like to take advantage of bouncy wicket in Dharmshala; he did not show any standard bowling till now in the series.

Darren Sammy, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell would also make their contribution with Ball. Indian squad would like to bat first in Dharmshala, the dew factor will come into play around 9 pm and second batting will suffer a lot.

Ball will swing at its maximum; most of the Indian batsmen are not much capable of playing swing bowling. Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli have to face the swing challenge; past records prove failure of the players at swing wicket. In January 2013, India versus England ODI at Dharmshala, half of the Indian team collapsed before 80runs chasing a target of 226. Indian side would come with 3 pacers, headed by Md. Shami along with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.

Third spot could be filled with Mohit Sharma. Shami has performed like a superstar, spectacular line and length of the bowler honoured with 8 wickets in the series till now. Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed shoddy performance in the series so far, bowler has to knit the bouncy pitch along with Shami at Dharmshala. Indian bowlers have to attack from the initial phase onwards, or else they face brutal attack in the hands of the visitors.

Prediction: India familiar with mountainous surroundings should feel at home to win the match but the sunny weather may make West Indies to wage a fight to win.
