Delhi Belly’ writer Akshat Verma is all set to make his acting debut in Bollywood movie “Bombairiya”, to be produced by Indo-British producer Michael Ward.
Akshat Verma who wrote the black comedy movie ‘Delhi Belly’ will be portraying a hot-headed director in his upcoming movie “Bombairiya.” The film also starrs Radhika Apte, Sidhant Kapoor and Akshay Oberoi.
Radhika Apte was last seen in the movie ‘Badlapur.’
Akshat said, “I am very excited about being a part of ‘Bombairiya’. It is a special script and the writing is unique. The irony of the journey from ‘Delhi Belly’ to ‘Bombairiya’ is something that I have only just registered…I suppose it’s quite special being associated with the top two cities of India. I’m not a trained actor but being on the other side of the camera has been an amazing experience,” he told PTI.
Akshat Verma, who graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, had said initially that he faced crucial funding problem when ‘Delhi Belly’ was planned as there was noone who could finance the project. He went on to win Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay and was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Story.
Akshat will also be directing a movie with actress-producer Anushka Sharma in an upcoming project.
