Delhi Auto Show 2016: Organisers Upbeat as 40 Exhibitors Buy up Entire Floor Space

The 2016 Auto Expo The Motor Show is upbeat as all the floor space has been sold to exhibitors, which include 40 vehicle manufacturers, 22 of them passenger and commercial vehicle makers while 18 of them are two-wheeler manufacturers.

The Society for Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM), which organises the Delhi Auto Show every year, said on Wednesday that the event will be the largest automobile event in the country ot organised jointly with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India, Confederation of Indian Industry.

SIAM director general Vishnu Mathur said since the floor space has been sold eight months in advance, he is extremely happy to see the potential demand for the show coming year.

Compared to 2014 edition, the 2016 event will have 8,000 sqm more floor area to display the vehicles and every inch has been sold out, he said. Last event in 2014 had 42,000 sqm and it is 50,000 sqm area in 2016, he explained.

Delhi Auto Expo showcases upcoming vehicles including cars, MUVs, SUVs, two wheelers, three wheelers, special vehicles, concept vehicles, commercial vehicles, vintage cars, super cars and motor bikes. Usually, it attract millions of visitors and next year’s show is expected to be even bigger, as it will have other ancillaruy units such as tires and tubes manufacturers, insurance companies, oil companies among others.

The five-day auto show 2016 will be open from 5 February to 9 February 2016, at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR, India. The Auto Expo is a biennial automotive show held in New Delhi, India and is Asia’s largest and the world’s second-largest motor show held by SIAM since 1986.
