The hosts will try to break their curse of failed attempts to win the title for 99 years. It will mark their 37th attempt in trying to win the tournament. Having Gunner Alexis Sanchez who almost single handedly led Arsenal to finish third in Premier League, and win the FA Cup as well, will definitely provide an encouragement to Jorge Sampaoli’s side.

Under the guidance of Jose Pekerman, the team produced a phenomenal performance in 2014 FIFA World Cup. They are hungry to avenge their world cup loss to Brazil, and will definitely look to cause a major upset with their attacking style of playing. With players like James Rodriguez, the Golden Boot winner of 2014 World Cup who enjoyed a fantastic first season at Real Madrid, Carlos Bacca, and Radamel Falcao, the possibility looks achievable.

No one can forget the look on Lionel Messi’s face when Argentina suffered an extra-time defeat to Germany in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The team always faced criticism in bringing out Messi’s best form due to the lack of assists like Xavi, Iniesta and Dani Alves in Barcelona. In 2014 World Cup they showed a more compact team, and a wonderful execution of football that won them a shot in winning the tournament for the third time. The loss to Germany is still afresh in their minds, and with the likes of Messi, Aguero, and Di Maria, they are a one of the strongest contenders to win Copa America.

Neymar is back, and so is Brazil’s hope in winning Copa America. After suffering a heartbreaking and shameful 7-1 defeat to Germany in 2014 FIFA World Cup, the home crowd of Brazil was shattered into pieces. Neymar’s absence due to a spinal cord injury caused by a foul by Columbian player Juan Camilo Zuniga in the quarter finals was anticipated to be the major reason behind their loss to Germany in the semi finals.

With the presence of all the ingredients required to win a major international tournament, Brazil is the second strongest contender for winning the title beside Argentina.
