It will not be an Argentina versus Brazil final when Copa America 2015 puts the curtain down on Saturday night. Instead, it will be – much to the nation’s delight, a Chile versus Argentina final.
Chile will be looking to lift their maiden continental cup after failing for 99 years while Argentina will be hoping to win the tournament for the 15th time – the last coming 22 years before.

When the tournament started, under the shadow of Brazil, Argentina and Colombia; Chile wasn’t one of the favorites to win it. They had potential and through their will and determination they have only proved that they deserved to be in the finals.
The home side hasn’t been in their best form at Copa America – or at least what they showed in last year’s World Cup, but again their never-give-up attitude and superb imperative game that saw them keeping their opponents always on the edge, cleared their route to the final.
The turning point for Jorge Sampaoli and his men arrived in their 2-2 draw against Peru. They showed tremendous defensive skills as well as having the ability to create chances for themselves.

If Chile are able to hold onto this attitude with the services of Alturo Vidal – the leading goal scorer of the tournament and Arsenal wonder, Alexis Sanchez – not to forget, Claudio Bravo who has made some remarkable saves in the tournament, they might have a chance to vanquish Argentina and win their maiden Copa America crown.
Argentina, on the other hand; are needless of a mention of how outstanding they have been in the tournament. For the past couple years now, they have come out of Lionel Messi’s shadow and started playing as a complete team – evident in their impressive 6-1 mauling of Brazil-crusher, Paraguay in the semi-finals.
The Barcelona sensation, who is very rarely in off-color if continues to get the assistance from Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria, it will be very difficult for the home team to turn things around. Moreover, Di Maria’s club teammate, Rojo and Boca Juniors forward, Carlos Tevez, who scored the winning penalty in Argentina’s, win over Colombia; also promises to provide full cooperation.

Tata Martino (as Gerardo Martino is known in football world) is yet to guide Argentina to a trophy, and as Messi has been saying from the beginning of the tournament – the win of Copa America would be as great as winning the World Cup.
Chile will have massive home support. Other than Vidal and Sanchez, Eduardo Vargas and Jorge Valdivia are also in commendable form. However, the heart-wrenching 0-1 loss to Germany in last year’s World Cup could just see Messi and team come out with bumping fortitude and saunter away with the title.
