COMED-K is likely to hold the counselling for admission to engineering seats of Karnataka colleges sometime this month to be declared soon. Since the ranks and marks are out, candidates can check their ranks anc possible colleges they can try based on last year’s cutoff point.
Eligible candidates will have to apply for counselling of COMEDK UGET 2017 and those in top ranks will be called first and there will be two to three rounds of counselling. Seats will be allotted through a centralised single-window counselling at Bangalore.
The details of availability of seats and fee will be intimated to candidates before the counselling begins. Qualified candidates should download individual rank cards by logging into their respective IDs on COMEDK.org and produce it along with other documents during the verification stage at the counselling.
COMEDK UGET 2017 Counselling: Dos & Don’ts
Biometric verification: Candidate should take a biometric test, followed by signature and photo verification process.
Only one person, either a parent or a guardian can accompany the candidate and he should also carry a photocopy of a valid ID proof such as a) Passport, b) Driving License, c) Voter ID, d) PAN Card, e) Aadhar Card. Postal ID verification.
No Gadgets: Don’t carry electronic items such as mobile Phones / Laptops / I-pads or any other electronic gadgets.
COMEDK UGET 2017 Counselling: Procedure
Step 1: Verification: The candidate must carry 1) All originals 2)All photocopies 3)DD of Fee payment. Hand them over to the person at the counselling and he will verify them against the originals.
Step 2: Registration: Next the candidate should register for counselling so that he will be allowed to participate in counselling for COMEDK UGET 2017. This requires:
a) Undergo Biometric, Signature, and Photo verification.
b) Fill up the Registration and enter options appropriately
c) Fill Demand Draft details and opt for a Course / College (up to 3 choices) from the list
d) The options entered by the candidate, both course and college will be allotted only when seats are available
Step 3: seat allotment: As per the schedule inimated to you, attend the session depending on your rank. Remember that a large screen will display the number of seats available for a course or college constantly updating the details, so you can decide for the remaining colleges.
Step 4: Remittance of Fee: A Demand Draft drawn at any Nationalised Bank in favour of COMEDK, payable at Bangalore for Rs.55,000 should be kept ready and submitted once the seat is allotted. The remaining balance of the tuition fee has to be paid to the college assigned on reporting day. The DD should be deposited in the Bank counter and a receipt will be issued.
Step 5: Allotment Letter: Keep the allotment letter and the bank recipt in safe custory as any requests for duplicate will not be entertained by COMEDK and they will make your life miserable if you loose the allotment letter.
Step 6: Report to college: The candidate will be asked to report to the college alloted to him or her and students are advised to carry a) Allotment Letter issued by COMEDK, b) Originals shown at counselling centre, c) Transfer certificate issued by the School or College last studied and d)Migration Certificate (if applicable).
SC/ST candidates must produce certificates issued by a competent authority and OBC Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB candidates must furnish caste and income certificate issued by a Tahsildar or Higher Revenue Jurisdictional Authority.
Candidates from Hyderabad-Karnataka Region must obtain a certificate issued by Jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner certifying the Hyderabad–Karnataka Region status.
