Chennai Super Kings have five wins from six matches and their confidence buoyant, KKR may find it difficult to match. Its coach Stephen Fleming was equally confident though he was not fully appreciative about the spinners in the team such as R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. They were not bad though with five wickets in 8 overs, conceding  only 36 runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders often faced rain god’s fury in their previous matches and their defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad at Visakhapatnam, made them settle for one point, with showers washing out their match against the Rajasthan Royals. The KKR, with a 3-2 win-loss record, need to win this match. It remains to be seen the fate of Sunil Narine.

Players to Watch:

The battle between the CSK spin pair of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja against the KKR opener Gautam Gambhir may be interesting.  Gambhir has good name for spin bowling, and hence let us see how he counters the threat posed by the two CSK spinners.

Morne Morkel bowling to Brendon McCullum and Suresh Raina is another contest in this match to see.  The South African player will be bowling while McCullum may playing the cut, hook or the pull, and Raina’s discomfort with the short delivery may be worth watching.

KKR have won only two of their six matches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai; both of those wins were in the 2012 season of the IPL.

The last six IPL matches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium have been won by the team batting first. Overall, off the 44 IPL matches played at the Chepauk, 27 have been won by the team batting first.

In his last two innings in Chennai, Brendon McCullum has scores of 100* (56 balls) and 66 (44 balls).

Chennai Super Kings are the only side to have fielded the same XI in each of their matches in Pepsi IPL 2015.

As said earlier, prediction is tough in tonight’s match 28 and any team could win the match as both are equally strong and evinced keen interest to win with powerful captains heading the teams. One may give more weight to MS Dhoni in CSK to strategise a win for his team.
