CBSE to Announce Date of Calss 12 Exam Results Soon: Minister

Amid hyped media speculation over the date of announcement of CBSE Class 12 Exam 2017 results, Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday tried to assure the anxious parents and students that both the class 10 and 12 board exams will be declared soon, though without revealing the exact date.

This year’s Class 12 and Class 10 results of CBSE have been delayed beyond the usual month of May owing to the Assembly election in five states. The recent PIL in the Delhi High Court has kept the new CBSE policy on moderation marks still hanging.

The Delhi high court’s directive to retain old valuation norms for the class 10 and 12 board exams this year too and give grace marks wherever applicable. The board has approached the HRD ministry on moving the Supreme court on the issue, which may further delay the declaration of CBSE results.

The minister, however, said that the students and parents need not worry and the CBSE may announce the date of announcement of the results soon, if not results.”The students need not to worry about the court’s decision as I ensure that justice be will be given to all. The CBSE will let us know about the results date soon,” he said.

Usually CBSE announces the date of declaration of its Class 10 and Class 12 results on its website well in advance to ward off speculation in social media about the possible date. But this year, the board has remained silent owing to the PIL in Delhi High Court and now that it is likely to approach the Supreme court, the speculation is that the results will be delayed beyond May 2017.

After the court verdict on Tuesday, series of meetings between CBSE board officials and HRD Ministry were conducted and Minister Prakash Javadekar told media that the CBSE will announce the date of declaration of the results soon.¬†This year, the announcement will be made 24 hours in advance, unlike a week’s advance notice in the past.

Apart from the official websites and, CBSE has tied up with two more private exam tracking websites for the declaration of results to reduce the sudden spike on its servers.
