Budget Live: Finance Minister Presenting Budget in Lok Sabha

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley reached parliament with the iconic briefcase containing the budget papers at 10 am this morning and he will present his first full-year budget for the fiscal 2015-2016 at aound after 11.00 am, unless the opposition allows without too many interruptions. One of the notable absentees will be Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has taken leave of absence from attending the session from his mother and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

Otherwise, other opposition parties may try to raise their concerns before the budget presentation. But by 12 noon, the budget presentation should get kicked off and it remains to be seen whether Arun Jaitley will sit and present the budget the way he did last time or not.

The Budget 2015-16 Live Telecast will be available on Doordarshan (DD1 and DD National) and Lok Sabha TV for first hand viewing. However, all major news channels in India like Aaj Tak, ABP Star News, Zee News, NDTV, CNN-IBN, TV9, India Today, Eenadu etc will also broadcast live coverage of the Budget 2015-16 with highlights.

Regional DD News Channels and Private Regional News Channels will broadcast the Budget 2015-16 speech in regional languages like Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Punjabi, Urdu.

12:35: Budget presented formally with Speaker’s permission.

12:30: Transport allowance doubled to Rs.1600

12:26: Medical concession 25,000 now. Service tax increased to 14%. Standard Deduction up from 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh with 50,000 for pension allocation.

12:07: Corporate tax reduced to 25% from 30% now.

12:05: 1200 cr for fast track corridor between Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

12:00:68950 cr for education, mid-day meal s scheme.

11:55: Sensex is up in the range of 100 points. AIIMS in AP, J&K announced. IIT in Karnataka announced.

11:54: Rs.75 crore for electric vehicle manufacturing announced

11:53: More jobs potential announced with national skills mission.

10:30 AM: Arun Jaitley visited President to get his nod on budget as customary and reached parliament an hour ago. He will begin his first full-year budget presentation at 11 AM. Budget papers have arrived in the Parliament.
