Brazil vs Germany Semifinal Match Prediction, Betting Odds, Preview, Live streaming Information

FBL-WC-2014-OPENING CEREMONYBrazil vs. Germany Match: Venue – Estádio Mineirão, Belo Horizonte; Time: 9 July 2014 at 1:30 pm ISTl;

The stage is finally set for the first semi final between Germany and hosts Brazil and what a riveting contest this is going to be. After a lackluster quarter final, both these footballing heavyweights will look to lock horns in the all important last 4 fixture knowing that even one wrong decision could land them with a one way ticket back home. The pressure as always will be on the hosts to deliver and Brazil are just one giant step away from playing the finale in front of a packed home crowd. Will the Germans succumb like the others or play spoilsport to Brazil’s hopes?

The biggest setback heading into this match for Brazil is the absence of star player Neymar. The Barcelona playmaker suffered a gruesome spinal injury against Columbia and is ruled out for the remainder of the tournament. He has been the heart and soul of the hosts and his absence will all but boost Germany’s confidence. Brazil have other world class players in their ranks no doubt, but Neymar is in a class of his own. Brazil need to find a replacement and trust me it is not the easiest task at hand.

Germany as said earlier will fancy their chances against Brazil. They had a dull outing against France in the quarters and just survived with the one goal that was scored. They cannot however expect the same in a match against Brazil. The stakes will be high and Brazil are known to be a downright attacking side. Joachim Lowe will know what his boys need to do and hence will be prepared to face the storm with the odds stacked against him.

Key factors in the match
The absence of Neymar and Silva creates a huge irregularity in both attack and defense. This is something Brazil can’t afford at this stage of the tournament and hence Germany will be licking their lips to attack the loopholes.
Brazil’s goals have pretty much come from set pieces this year and the Germans will be vary of that. Luiz especially has carved a niche for himself by finding the target on multiple occasions.
It will be a riveting contest between the German midfield and the Brazilian defense. All of Ozil, Muller, Kroos and Khedira have had a phenomenal world cup and they will look to add another chink to their armor with a solid performance against Brazil
Both sides are blessed with quality goalkeepers. Both Neuer and Cesar will be up for the task in case a penalty shootout situation looms largely over this fixture.

Brazil have lost none of their last six semi-final matches, winning five and drawing the other
Brazil have scored in each of their last ten clashes with Germany, averaging 2.2 goals per game
Both teams had to rely on goals from centre-halves to win their quarter-final matches
Miroslov Klose is 1 goal away from being the highest scorer in World Cup history.
