Riding high on the recent success of Srimanthudu, Mahesh Babu second venture with Srikanth Addala after the hit film "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu". the pre-release business is reporting hectic activity ahead of the official release.
The storyline is an amalgamation of three past films of Mahesh Babu put together — Murari, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Sreemanthudu. Besides glorifying family values, celebrating traditions, the hero goes out in search of lineage to know first-hand the value of family lineage. The father and son bonding is another crucial feature that goes well with Mahesh Babu as ever.
‘Brahmotsavam’ is, otherwise, creating new record in Telugu fetching a pre-release business of around Rs.100 crore so far, reports said. Initial reports said distribution rights in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were sold for about Rs.25 crore each, while neighbouring Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and rest of India rights were sold for about Rs.18 crore. The audio and satellite rights were sold for Rs. 20 crore, overseas rights for Rs.12 crore with the total reaching Rs.100 crore so far, ahead of the release of ‘Brahmotsavam’.
Reports said Hyderabad-based Abhishek Pictures has brought the film for a record price of Rs 21 crore making it highest price ever paid for a Telugu film in Nizam area. The film is all set to release this month and the audio release will be on May 7 in Hyderabad. It also adds to the hype that the movie is directed by Srikanth Addala, the director of Mahesh’s superhit film Seethamma Vakitlo Sririmalle Chettu.
The shooting is wrapped up except for a song, which will be shot from May 3 onwards at the RFC. The post-production work is also going on at a brisk pace as the makers are planning to release the movie in the third week of May.
The film is set against the background of a son who is resposible and it surrounds the village atmosphere. In its official launch ceremony, direcor Srikanth Addala said: "There would be beauty and happiness if some people are together. If there is a family with many members and if they celebrate every moment like a Utsavam, it is a Brahmotsavam."[category, movies]
