With a positive word of mouth, Amitabh Bachchan’s latest film ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ was able to gross Rs.18 crore in three days after its release on Friday, April 11, 2014.
The film, which initially picked up 25% audience was seen reaching more than 70% occupacy in the weekend and as expected picked up momentum on box office collections, reaching Rs.18 crore in three days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Monday: “Bhoothnath Returns’ Rs 18.02 crore nett. India business. Excellent growth over the weekend.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is a sequel to 2008 film ‘Bhootnath’ by Amitabh Bachchan, which featured Juhi Chawla and a guest appearance of Shah Rukh Khan. But the sequel has child actor Parth Bhalerao, who was called the film’s hero by Big B.
The film with a social message and mixed with entertainment was mainly meant for kids, who are enjoying their vacations currently.
