BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya, who suffered chest pain on Thursday evening in Kolkata, was rushed to the BM Birla Heart Research Institute amid worries that falling health is a big concern for the cricket board.
Dalmiya, 75, has been unwell and was indisposed for some time, said reports. Confirming the news sourced to hospital staff, media reports said Jagmohan Dalmiya was admitted to the BM Birla Hospital after 9 pm and an emergency medical team is monitoring his health.
While his son Abhishek Dalmiya is with him in the hospital, former India captain Sourav Ganguly and West Bengal sports minister Arup Biswas also rushed to the hospital, said reports.
Though BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur is actually overseeing the functioning of the cricket board of India, Dalmiya’s deteriorating health has raised concerns among the cricket fraternity.
