Hrithik Roshan-starrer “Bang Bang”, which stars Katrina Kaif in female lead, will be released in 4,500 screens worldwide in 50 countries on October 2, a record for any Bollywood film. The film produced by Fox Star Studios, a Star TV venture, was directed by Siddharth Anand.
Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios, said in a statement:”Over 4,500 screens across 50 countries, with record breaking No. of screens in the US, UK and the Middle East.”
October 2, which falls on Thursday a national holiday is likely to push audience to Hrithik Roshan’s “Bang Bang” that is made with a budget of Rs.180 crore, with stunts and action scenes gripping the film, shot in Abu Dhabi and India. Assured in the film are elements of car chase, shoot-outs, and all the excitement to make it a real weekend entertainer, promises director Sidharth Anand.
Thw weekend will also see the release of “Haider”, the second film on October 2, made with a budget Rs.24 crore starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, who is known for transforming Shakespeare’s classics to modern Indian context — Macbeth as “Maqbool”, Othello as “Omkara” and now Hamlet as “Haider”. The film portrays a tragedy that took place in the 1990s in Kashmir and Irrfan Khan and Tabu are the two other attractions.
Bhardwaj told IANS. “It’s a very big weekend and it can accommodate two films and that’s why we thought of releasing with ‘Bang Bang!’.”
