Hrithik Roshan starrer “Bang Bang” has crossed the box office record set by Ajay Devgn’s “Singham Returns”, with Rs.154.68 crore net income compared to Rs.141 crore grossed by the latter. It has also become the second highest grosser in 2014, behind Salman Khan’s “Kick”, which is still at the top with Rs.309 crore in net earnings.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, “Bang Bang!” box office collections stand at Rs.154.68 crore nett (Rs.221 crore gross). The film’s total worldwide collections are currently at Rs.290.97 crore gross, and it may have crossed the threshold to join the Rs.300-crore club by Monday.
Since its release on Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary holiday, followed by Durga Puja holidays all over the country, the timing helped the film collect decent earnings and the last Saturday it was still Rs.5 crore, competing with newly released 5 films.
In overseas, “Bang Bang!” collected $11.3 million (Rs.70 crore) in 11 days as it performed well in the Middle East, Britain, US, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan. Since there is no big release until October 22 when Shah Rukh Khan’s “Happy New Year” will hit screens, the Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer is bound to remain on top of the charts.
Produced by Fox Star Studios, “Bang Bang!” was made with a budget of Rs.180 crore.
