Bahubali’ has collected Rs.490 crore so far in its 24-day journey both in domestic and overseas markets, making it the first Indian film ever to cross the half-a-billion mark, a feat that Shahrukh Khan was keen to achieve first. By tomorrow, Bahubali is all set to cross the magic figure of Rs.500-crore.
The movie is the Fastest Indian movie to cross ₹ 100 Crore that too in just 2 days after a record Rs.66 vrore on its openining day itself.
It is also the highest grosser despite being a dubbed version in Hindi as busy Hrithik reportedly could not give his schedule dates for the movie when approached for the Hindi version.
Its Hindi version alone grossed Rs.100 crore in 25 days, less than a month even. Even “Robot” starring Rajnikant and Aishwarya was able to gross ₹ 18 Crore in its full run.
Baahuabli also made the record of Highest opening weekend 3 day collection at US box office, which was held by Aamir Khan’s movie PK. Baahuabali collected ₹ 28 Crore at the US box office.
In Telugu, the home version of the film, broke all records to become the highest opener by collecting Rs. 27 crore on its first day, beating all the records in any South or north Indian films. It is also the first south film to cross 300 Cr club on box office.
Bahubali on its 24th day collected Rs.9.2 crore and short of Rs.10 crore to cross the magic figure of Rs.500 crore, which it is likely to reach by Tuesday.
The only Hindi film giving it tough competitition was ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ of Salman Khan that was released on Eid and is running close behind ‘Bahubali’ to join the Rs.300-crore club.
