As ‘Bahuabli 2’ director SS Rajamouli is pondering about wise investment of his proceeds from his magnum opus, his producers Arka Mediaworks have already focused their attention on their next movie titled “Mahanubhavudu” in Telugu with Sharwanand in the lead role.
So, ‘Bahubali 3’ is not on the cards right now and may take time until Rajamouli decides on it. Last month, ‘Bahubali 2’ producer Shobu Yarlagadda said the next franchise movie ‘Bahubali 3’ depends on the right story and script.
The next movie with a budget of Rs.40 crore is higher than expected but the producers are keeping their bet on Sharwanand’s recent hit “Shatamanam Bhavati”, which has collected Rs.22 crore. Some industry sources point out that every hit film is followed by an average or a flop movie. It has more to do with the income tax returns than rationale, they pointed out.
K Raghavendra Rao’s son K S Prakash is the director of the movie and the screenplay was his wife Kanika of Anushka Shetty’s ‘Size Zero’ film. Prakash had earlier directed “Anaganaga O Dheerudu” with Siddharth and Shruti Haasan but it flopped at the box office.
The producers are sure that their brand name as producers of “Baahubali” will not suffer even if one film after that becomes a moderate hit or a flop.
Moreover, Sharwanand’s movie “Shatamanam Bhavati” collected his career best Rs.22 crore at a time when Chiranjeevi’s comeback movie “Khaidi No. 150” and Balakrishna’s prestigious 100th movie “Gauthami Putra Satakarni” were running in most of the theatres.
‘Shatamanam Bhavati’, produced by Dil Raju, was followed by Sharwanand’s 25th film “Radha”, which is a comedy that was hit mostly by Bahubali 2 second week popularity in many theatres.
