Bahubali 2 Makes Hey Day on May Day, Collections Touch Rs.625 Cr

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2 is on its huge box collections streak that in four days after its release in 9000 screens wordwide, the film Bahubali: The Conclusion has collected over 600 crore gross worldwide creating a new collection record with ticket prices soaring up to Rs.5000 in Vijayawada and still around Rs.500 in cities like Mumbai, Banglore and Hyderabd.

Besides weekend collections of about Rs.382 crore, Monday, May 1, being a holiday as May Day or Labour Day, pushed earnings to an additional Rs.50 crore in AP alone. The Prabhas, Rana Daggubati-starrer Bahubali 2 collected Rs 25 crore in AP and Telangana, Rs 10 crore in Tamil Nadu, Rs 9 crore in Karnataka and Rs 5 crore in Kerala on this day though marginal decline is evident.

About Rs 49 crore gross was collected in the south and about Rs 35 crore nett was collected in Hindi belt , with the total reaching Rs 163 crore nett. Its gross domestic collections are put at Rs 230 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: “The Hindi version of #Baahubali2 BULLDOZES all records with KNOCKOUT biz on Monday… Early est: ₹ 35 cr+… Await final numbers!”

With all these huge amounts raking in, the total Baahubali 2 collections in four days comes to Rs 625 crore gross worldwide. It is likely break even Hindi film collection record set by Aamir Khan in December last at Rs.750 crore.
