‘Baahubali’ Overtakes Hoolywood’s ‘300’ in IMDB Rating, Mints Rs.50 Crore on Opening Day

Telugu film director S.S.Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’, the most expensive movie in the history of Indian cinema, with Rs.250 crore has made a record overtaking the Hollywood’s magnum opus ‘300’ (7.8 rating) by gaining highest ever 9.5 out of 10 in IMDB rating. Any film with a rating of 7 out of 10 makes it worth watching.

‘Baahubali’, made with a budget of more than Rs 150 crore with a rating of 9.5 makes it more than worth watching film in the global film industry and enhances the movie’s success on overseas market. IMDB’s rating is the most accepted rating worldwide that is taken seriously.

In domestic market, the film has grossed the highest box office collections on its opening day with a whopping Rs. 50 crore and many new markets are making room for the film’s release inclduing Kerala.

Its opening day collections in Hindi version touched Rs.5,5 crore on its opening day, the highest ever in Bollywood for a dubbed film. Even in Tamil, ‘Bahubali’ created record with a box office collections of Rs.30 lakhs overseas while domestic numbers are still pouring in.

In USA alone, it received $1.3 million on Thursday opening and another $999,975 on Friday amounting to Rs.14.96 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:”Baahubali [Telugu] has set the BOX-OFFICE ON FIRE in USA: Thu pre $ 1,360,201, Fri $ 999,975. Total: $ 2,360,176 [₹ 14.96 cr]. FABULOUS!” Starring Telugu actors Prabhas, Rana Dagubatti, Anushka Shetty and Tamannah Bhatia, the film received rare reviews and acclaim among the critics.
