As Bollywood’s most respected actor and an icon Amitabh Bachchan turned 74 on Tuesday, many big and small people greeted him sincerely and many media outlets let out their archive power of Big B’s great achievements over the period.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday tweeted, "Dear SrBachchan (Amitabh Bachchan), wishing you a very happy birthday. Your versatility and humility has many admirers. Praying for your long and healthy life." Together, both Modi and Bachchan followers swell to a mind-boggling number of 46 million (4.6 crore) and inevitably, they hold the highest brand power in the country.
Amitabh Bachchan started his film career in the late 1960s and dominated the Bollywood in the 1970s with hit films like Deewar, Zanjeer, Sholay, Don, while in his later career Black, Sarkar, Agneepath, Paa, Piku and Pink made him an icon in the film indsutry.
The megastar of Bollywood nearly lost his life after an accident while filming for his "Coolie" in Bangalore and the whole nation was praying for his recovery, including then PM Indira Gandhi.
It was an occasion when the whole nation saw its strength behind unity in diversity surpassing division, secular parochialism to wish for the person whom everybody loved. No wonder, he survived and went on to mesmerize the country with more of his films than politics which he had disassociated from at the right time.

Farah Khan wrote, “There are heroes & then there are Legends!! Happy birthday legend Sr, Bachchan.” Shoojit Sircar, another co-actor of Amitabh Bachchan said:“Happy Birthday to the most humble and respectful man & artiste @SrBachchan :)) He turns 15 year old today:)”.
Puri Jagganath, director, said in his Twitter: "LOVE YOU SARKAR” Dhanush, who shared the screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Shamitabh’, said: “SrBachchan many many happy returns of the day sir.”
