In a recent survey conducted by Forbes magazine, three out of the top 10 highest paid actors now come from Bollywood, while the fourth one is Jackie Chan from China. The three from Bollywood are Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Ironic but Shahrukh Khan, who had figured second richest actor in Forbes List last year is not in the first 10 this year. Even other established actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp could not make it to the top ten list this year.
Amitabh Bachchan, 72, stands at 7th position with earnings of $33.5 million.
Salman Khan, despite being sentenced to jail for five years in prison in March has almost equal earning to the ‘Shamitabh’ actor. His recent flick ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is breaking records in box-office earning almost Rs.300 crore in 3 weeks, and the movie is expected to cross Rs. 350 crore by the weekend.
Probably, the shocking addition to the list was Akshay Kumar with $32.5 million this year standing at 9th position ahead of Mark Wahlberg.
However, Robert Downey Jr has topped Forbes magazine’s annual list of the highest paid actors for 2015. The ‘Iron Man’ star made $80 million ahead of China’s Jackie Chan who made an estimated $50 million.
Here is the top ten list of Forbes magazine’s annual list of the world’s highest-paid Actors 2015:
