Aarti Agarwal, the 31-year-old Telugu actress died of cardiac attack on Saturday morning around 6 AM in her US home in New Jersey reportedly after undergoing ‘lipo-suction’ surgery in the body.
In fact, Arti Agarwal was turned away by a Hyderabad cosmetic surgeon whom she approached first as she had hardly any fat under her skin and it would be dangerous to go for fat removal by surgery.
But she went to the US and underwent the surgery that has virtually killed her. “The first principle of liposuction is that it should not be used as a tool for weight reduction,” said Sudhakar Prasad of Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad to The Hindu.
He said it would be dangerous and criminal to remove more than 3 litres of fat through liposuction as fat embolism post-durgery is fatal though rare, say 1 in 10,000.
Aarti Agarwal shot to fame with her ever-green film “Nuvvu Naaku Nachaav” with Venkatesh in 2001 and reigned the Telugu film industry for over 6 years thereafter until her bid to commit suicide ended her caareer.
Her other films include with Tarun in “Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu” with Junior NTR in “Allari Ramudu” with Balakrishna in “Palnaati Brahma Naidu” to cite a few.
When she attempted suicide in 2006 after a break-up with Tarun, it gave a shock to the entire Telugu industry and her offers came to nil after that virtually sealing off her stay in the film industry.
Born on 5 March 1984 to a Gujarati family in the US, Aarti was spotted at the age of 14 by actor Sunil Shetty who invited her to dance with his team on stage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After an impressive performance, he recommeded her to choose a career in Bollywood as an actress and she made her debut with the Hindi film “Paagalpan” two years later.
After her successful career in Telugu, she attempted suicide in 2006 that sealed her career and she chose to marry in 2007 but divorced and returned to the US to stay with her parents. She reportedly underwent lipo-suction surgery six weeks ago and had breathing problem when she was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she was declared brought dead on Saturday morning.
