Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched its official FaceBook page ahead of its historic run-up to the launch of inter-planetary mission to Mars on November 5.
The Facebook account (goo.gl/cybk4I) was created on October 22 to give insights into its Mars Orbiter Mission highlighting the objectives of the expedition, pictures, graphics and updates.
The Mars Orbiter Mission is all set for launch on November 5 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
The FaceBook, more on the lines of similar interaction by NASA with its fans and visitors, gives ISRO an opportunity to get feedback on its missions from the people. It says:
“We would love to hear from you; your feedbacks/comments/suggestions and all that you want to share with us. And when you want to hear from the horse’s mouth on this mission, you don’t have to look beyond this page!” says the wall of ISRO’s Mars Orbiter Mission Facebook page.
So far, the page has received 9,958 likes and more than 7,000 cited the page or talked about it, or conveyed their best wishes or posted queries.
A lick on its countdown to Mars Mission launch takes the visitor to the countdown page where a clock shows 5 days and 23 hours to launch the PSLV 25 on Nov. 5, 2013.
