Shahrukh Khan starrer “Chennai Express” is grabbing viewers attention far before its actual release. The trailer of the film put out in YouTube three weeks ago has crossed the 4-million mark, pointing at its immense popularity ahead of the release.
The action-comedy directed by Rohit Shetty stars Deepika Padukone, a South Indian with a typical accent in the film. The theme is about a man’s journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens during the journey as he falls in love with the daughter of a don.
Earlier, “Chennai Express” song “1 2 3 4… Get on the Dance Floor” that was released on YouTube three weeks ago was also an instant hit that has crossed 1,205,460 views, in addition to 436,613 views for a similar video.
“Chennai Express is about a man’s journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens during the journey after he falls in love with the daughter of a don. Interestingly, Shah Rukh would not play the role of a South Indian in the film,
perhaps a lesson learnt from “Ra-One”.
“Chennai Express” will be released for Eid on August 8, 2013.
The trailer shows SRK saying: “Myself Rahul. Chaalis saal ka ho gaya hoon (I am 40). Normally iss age tak har kissi ke life mein adha ek twist to aa hi jata hain. Meri life mein bhi ek twist aya, bahut bara twist jisse meri life hi badal gayi (In this age normally everyone has some big twist in their life and so did I. And it completely changed my life.”
